Did Something DUMB....

3 Attachment(s)
Well, I usually get to make fun of all the young guys that I work with, but now for once I am the butt of THEIR jokes...at least for a little while...

My pennance for this mistake and subsequent rescue was to post the pics of my dumb move, so here they are:

Tried to make it through about 150m of drifted in trail, and was convinced that I could, but about 3m into it, I high-centered so bad my wheels werent even touching the ground. JD710 backhoe couldnt pull me out, he had to use the bucket to 'drag' up out of there....I of course am taking some serious heat over this one....

Dr. Evil 01-29-2008 06:02 PM

I cant even laugh at you...I was north of Edson on a brand new lease road, pulled over to use the phone and the truck sank to the transfer case. That truck never was the same. :w2: Luckily, there are no pics.

Whit 01-29-2008 06:03 PM

DangerousDuramax 01-29-2008 06:08 PM

Blue01F250 01-29-2008 08:52 PM

dozerboy 01-29-2008 09:03 PM

Lol if you had a lighter truck you would of been fine. Ummm who makes a lighter full size diesel truck.....J/K

If your going to do something stupid you might as well do it when you have some Iron to pull yourself out with. I do carp like that out in BFE and have to walk a mile ( 1.609344KM for you Eh) or more to find a framer to pull me out.

Well, I was real lucky that we had a backhoe about 1/2 mile away...Im working on a Military base that is HUGE...next closest iron was over 2 hrs away....

LOGANSTANFORTH 01-29-2008 09:14 PM

dont feel bad Brad, i had some buddies talk me into trying to blow through some snow drifts in my V10 dodge about 5 years ago, i did the same thing, got about 30 feet into a 100 foot run and high centered myself, it was so deep i couldnt open the doors, the drifts were almost 5 feet high, i had to have a Dmax pull me out.....it sucked......

Ha, ha...did you feel as dumb as I did??? We couldnt open the passenger door...

The hoe hand that came to resuce me is a huge FORD fan, and he tried to pull me with his truck first, but it wouldnt even budge it...The hoe barely got me out...

dozerboy 01-29-2008 09:21 PM

I got talked into large drifts once. Ended up packing my rad full of snow and over heated lucky I didn't crack a head. Yes I felt very dumb.

LOGANSTANFORTH 01-29-2008 09:27 PM

no because i knew i wasnt going to make it to begin with, school had been cancelled that day and i didnt have to work (when you work at a pizza place and have a big 4x4 you work alot when it was snowing, no other shops had a 4x4) the snow drift was so deep the township hired us to clean it out with a backhoe cause the plow trucks couldnt break through it.........well me being the certified jackass that i am decided to run through it.....

oh and i can tell you the story about the snowman and my ford ranger if you would like, you will get a kick out of that, i pulled that stunt last year.......

RedRammer 01-29-2008 10:58 PM

We live at the end of a dead end road, Sunday night took the co. truck (stupid chev gasser) to town to fuel. Drifts about a foot (or 30 cm) over the hood but I figure why not? Good thing the Dodge was plugged in...

STROKER400 01-30-2008 10:32 AM

NIceeee. But Nice truck. Needs a little lift and a little bigger tires and that may not have happened.
