2WD Duramax Pulling

he took second in the street class this weekend against 22 4x4 trucks.

.

So there u have it out of a little over 20 trucks 2wd placed 2nd not to bad.

Blue01F250 12-17-2007 04:52 PM

Thats not bad - I always wondered if I tried that with my 2wd if I could get it to do good... I guess that question has been asnwered huh

DangerousDuramax 12-17-2007 04:54 PM

No Brant, that was a DMax that did that. Dont even try it.

Blue01F250 12-17-2007 05:00 PM

Ha Ha - aren't you funny :gunner: :loco:

2001shrtbedcummins 12-17-2007 06:07 PM

notice how high the rear end was? That's the key to it. I'm surprised they let him pull with a hitch height that high. But if it was a cummins it would have won.

LOGANSTANFORTH 12-17-2007 06:31 PM

keith told us 2WD guys we are allowed to run a 31 inch hitch height against the 4x4's, the trick isnt really the hitch height, its how high you can get the truck in the rear to make 31 inches.....me, him, and a couple others guys are doing some talking about setups and stuff, just wait til you see the hot 2WD cummins making its debut sometime this year.....i might have a new GOOD paying job this week selling construction equipment, 400 a week plus commission, and if i get it, WATCH OUT!!!!, im gonna be blowing all kinds of money on my dodge to pull with.....i already got a list of stuff to buy/build for it.....dually wheels, 31x11.50x16 swamper LTB's, traction bars, bump stops, a few other toys i got up my sleeve.....he only lost by a few inches to a 4x4 cummins

by the way, i was at that pull saturday night taping from the finish line, give it a few days and those videos will be up.......this was one of Kurt's buddies taping......

nope usually means it gonna be expensive!

2500HeavyDuty 01-06-2008 10:48 PM

very expensive :mum:

LOGANSTANFORTH 01-07-2008 05:54 PM

all he got was the u-joint, he was running boggers saturday and he thinks thats what got it, i told him to go to 1410 so there was less chance of breakage, 1480's would be even better.......i know he either swapped in or is going to swap in a t-case also.....

stRanger 01-08-2008 04:16 PM

does he run BIO or WVO? if not whats with the drums in the bed, just adding weight?

DangerousDuramax 01-08-2008 05:01 PM

Those were barrels of water to add weight to the rear end.

LOGANSTANFORTH 01-08-2008 05:32 PM

yeah, and when your done, just tip the barrel over and the water comes out....his truck is ALOT heavier compared to mine, i need 2600 pounds added to run against him.....

stillbad 01-08-2008 10:16 PM

thats real good, ive always wondered how i could do if i hooked to the sled, i hooked in the truck tug at a county fair one time an came in 4th out of 7 with wore out back tires, all the others were 4X4, which my truck weighs in at 7800 lbs empty

LOGANSTANFORTH 01-08-2008 10:43 PM

thats a major disadvantage for you being that heavy, on a 2wd truck you want all of the weight to the rear of the truck, preferably as much behind the rear axle as possible....

stillbad 01-09-2008 06:26 PM

much of that comes from the flatbed, its a 2 ton truck bed

Yeah More weight on the rear wheels pushes them down harder into the ground for more traction and less spinning the wheels, if you can get both of the front wheels off the ground yer in business, except you wouldn't be able to steer
