My brothers 1st cummins
 

Well my younger brother ( not a member here yet) bought his first cummins last week. He found a 98 12v ex cab long bed 5 speed with only 137k. It has the 24v dash but the solid rear doors. Overall is a great looking truck that he is so far very happy with.

The truck was not bone stock but fairly close to it. It has 330 injectors, boost elbow, 5 plate, intake, 5" exhaust, twin ram, gauges, KDP tabbed, air bags, and a southbend 3250 dual disk.

We briefly talked about future goals for this truck, he wants something thats not going to break constantly, easy to drive, cheep, and wont leave him stranded. So were shooting for a cool 350 rwhp, which should be no problem :tu:

I realize they're helpers but I think they're supposed to be straight up and down not tilted back. At least thats the way my firestones are. Thats a darn clean truck though, wish my body was that good. :c:

Not really, just a little higher than the book value on the truck

most 98 12 valves do not have the rear doors. rarely youll find one that does. and up until NOW i had never seen a 24 that didnt have them. very interesting. i wonder if this was due to where the truck was manufactured geographically speakin in terms of where i am an where the truck was purchased. either way great find. clean rig an cant wait to see it bombed. This truck is a 12v, I was posting the 24v thing as a joke in response to the they put anything in the 98's

Update on the truck

We had to drop the rear drive shaft to install a new carrier bearing and we added a steering stabilizer:tu:

next were gonna turn the boost back and a timing bump

well I talked him in to putting her on the rollers at the spring fling on march 19th. Time to tweek her a bit more :tu:
