*Picture Request* Where do you mount your cb whips?

hey guys looking at buying some whips for my future/current truck don't know where to mount it, or to just buy magnetic pictures if possible would be awesome!

what size whip(s) you looking at buying

if your looking to buy two whips and use them both then you are going to be looking at a place that has about 109 inches between mounting spots for them to work at their best... and usually you want them located middle of the truck (front of the bed) so that they send a signal lobe towards the front... if they are up by the engine that will send the main signal lobe towards the back of the truck...

So in my opinion a single antenna mounted on the center of the cab would be your best bet!

^^^^i agree. i've got the wilson 1000 mounted on my cab. its not the magnetic base either. i've got a nice little whole drilled and i don't have any leaks so far. and i've had it up the for a couple years now. but i'm gonna go w/ a little bit smaller antenna though due to mine reaching out and grabbing a lot of trees and some low bridges.

it doesn't matter what size I buy I don't need whips that get out to far I just really wanna use it when me and my buddies all go out, I just want to make it look cool so I was looking for ideas!

https://www.dieselbombers.com/member...83-my-whip.jpghere is my 8ft whip mounted on my flatbed

I would say a good 3' or 4' mounted like this would work great. That is what I have found works best for a single. Also make sure you get a good spring for it.

I like whips for running the interstates and on long runs but they kinda suck for everyday cause the rub almost everything you drive under if you dont bend them down.

This also comes from years of trying different setups.
Mine include
the one im running now,
twin 5s mounted on the side of the headache rack,
same twins mounted on each side in the factory bed,
twin 4s the same way,
my current whip on the side of my chevy like cummins250,
and twin 3s mounted on the mirrors of my 82.

Also gotta love a old school c.b
