Yeah, I am making good progress today. We got the hood completely off, got the other fender off except one bolt, bed's unbolted, and we're tearing into it full force. I have finally decided what I am going to do for my bed... since the structure of it is decent, minus the very rear portion, I am going to save the structure, make a treated cedar floor, and do the bed sides. I am figuring this to cost between $300 and $400, which is cheaper than a new bed, and especially since there are no good beds close, I won't have to pay travel expenses either.

Unfortunately, I am not getting pictures tonight. No time to mess around with the camera, and really, nothing exciting to take pics of.

school?????????? that stuff eats up to much time. i gave plenty of my life to that to go to college. but good for you. i bet you spend as much time at work and school as i do with work and kids. can't seem to get anything done untill bed time, then you are too tired for it. i was thinking about buying something like this before i got my truck, but i realized that i couldn't put enuf time it to it to make it worth while. but i am glad to see that you are stickin with it. i am sure i would have quit a long time ago.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys! Keep em coming, cuz every day I ask myself JUST WHAT DID I GET INTO!? Though, I have reach the peak, and I think I am on the downhill side. I can see the light, and it looks good. I did get some pics, I will upload once I wash all this rust off myself!

I also got most of the driver's side floor pan cut out, but I failed to get any pics from it. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I had to use my cell phone.

I must be compensating for something...

Just got that from UPS today. Looks good, no shaft play whatsoever. Should be a good project and put down enough power for me. Just looking to hit a little over 300hp, and 900ftlbs of torque.

Well... I ended up buggering up my back while working on the truck, so I am off work for a min of 2 weeks. This sucks, because it means I can't do any heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, long standing, or anything besides sitting in my recliner, really.

I have been making a list of small projects that I could do, that don't require alot of work. This should hold me over til I can at least stand up straight. So, here is the list... Cover headliner in black tweed, wrap A pillars with black tweed, custom fabricate some door panels and kick panels, clean my doors up and look for excessive bondo, and a few other things I am not thinking of right now.

So, the bodywork progress has been put to a halt, but it will resume soon enough. We have made good progress since the last installment, but nothing amazing. I ordered some parts, that I think will help with the rotten cab support (ie: I think its the cab support?). Waiting for those to come in, and then we can get going again, hopefully.

mkriebs 03-21-2010 06:27 PM

Mom would KILL me if i lit it on fire... I have to put my clothed out at least 2 times a day when I'm welding, haha.
