Interior Paint
I want to redo the color of the interior on my 97 from grey to black. Whats a good paint for dashes, door panels etc?

I havent done it but I would think youd want to use the paint for plastics....
Krylon is the spray paint leader in color, innovation, and inspiration Id damn sure buy some plastic interior pieces from the junk yard and do some experimenting before tackling the interior of your truck. also, Im not sure what kind of scratch resistance it has. I was going to do my dash bezel and a few other things in red - but I chickened out. |
I've got my plastic painting down thanks to all the gauges I've helped install. I was originally going to go with an enamal but I think it would come out to shiny.

I to painted my gauge pod with that too. found a gauge pod at the local junk yard and painted it to match my interior and then my new gauges came with a pod and painted it as well and didnt come out too shiny. So i think that you are on the right track by using an enamel and a plastic type paint.

Duplicolor has a plastic paint that's meant for plastic car interiors. I used it to redo my Ford's ugly blue interior to a nice primer grey. Works pretty good, not shiny at all, scratch resistance is great. Only spot I had paint scratching thru was my foot hitting the door panels jumping in and out of the truck and the vinyl arm rests would wear thru. Nothing unexpected thou.
