removing ink from leather

how do you remove pen ink from leather seats in a truck?

Longhorn 02-21-2009 07:26 PM

I have used Brake Clean on mine, but I have grey. I think you will want to be REAL CAREFUL that it wont hurt the leather by changing the color. I tested mine near the bottom where you couldnt see it. After i was satisfied that it didnt hurt mine, I now use it regularily, on ink, oil, grease, etc. It really dries the leather out, so I follow with a leather conditioner.

Good Luck!

seatcover?! HAHA just teasing, test some thinner or something where you can't see it if it messes the leather up.

You might also try hydrogen peroxide. I've used it in the past on cloth with stains. Like was said before though.. test it in a hidden area. It can bleach the color out in some cases.
