My Trim Is Fading!
The trim on my truck is fading its just not very black anymore. Anyone know of a way to paint or do something to get the plastic trim as in side trim, Mirrors, door handles and the plastic pieces on the top and bottom of the front bumper and the rear bumper. Thanks for any advice you have guys.

Put some ICE wax on it to bring it back

I think the stuff that I usesd was called "Forever Black" or something. It came in a little red squeeze bottle about 4" high. I got it at either Checker or Auto Zone. It brought my bumpers on my Dodge back and kept them black for almost 2 years before I had to reapply it.

I think "Mothers Black to Black" is what Mr. Cetane is talking about. You have to apply it a little more often than that (or at least I do): Attachment 56098 |
I used Meguiar's Endurance High Gloss protectant, you have to rub it in good, but it soaks into the plastic and not only brings it back but the shine lasts for a while too.:U:

Yep that's it. Works great. Thanks, Doc. :U:

Back to black isnt a pimple on the ass of the ICE wax , I have used them both multiple times

Yeah, I would try something other than back to black - I found it works ok but thats about it. Seemed to need redoing in a week or so.

There are paints out there meant for plastic trim. Let me see if I can find the brand that my detail shop carries. There are also dressings that enhance the colors of plastics, but its something that wears off.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Hi-Tech industries is the brand, here is the link |
Thanks man ill have to try them.
