Just got the P pump put on it and everything all tuned into spec so it wont blow up. Truck should be pretty fast when i get a chance to open her up I'll let ya know what she can do. Hope ya like the pics.

cool ! :U:

stkdram55 08-18-2008 06:50 PM

:U: love the white on black:pca1:

E2theRock2 08-18-2008 07:19 PM

I'm so tempted to take it out and floor it and see what she can do. Twin turbos+ dragon flow pump = fast. Lol the motor is all rebuilt so I should prolly put some miles on it before i turn it it loose.

stkdram55 08-18-2008 07:21 PM

yeah you need to get a good 500 miles on it before you flog the dog, and after you put some miles on it then i would retq the headblots just to be sure:c:

E2theRock2 08-18-2008 07:31 PM

Its so tempting with everything thats done to it just to lay'er to the floor and watch the needle bury..... She rolls the coal right now so thats ok i guess.

looks like one of the neighbors isn't too happy about the smoke in the first pic.....

Thats a 6 inch CAT stack for right now but I will soon have an 8inch CAT on it. The 8 incher i was going to use on it I had on a flat bed trailer with some other junk and it fell off and got all dented up so I decided to use the 6 inch instead.

biged681985 08-18-2008 07:54 PM

that is gonna be one hell of a ride there eric. i think id be goin on a road trip to get a bunch of miles on her fast and open the beast up. :U:

Benjamin 08-18-2008 07:57 PM

best way to break one in is a lot of city drivin'.... you want to keep the rpm's varying... i heard it isn't good for it to stay at a constant rpm for a long period of time....

E2theRock2 08-18-2008 08:13 PM

Yea thats what i heard too.... I have 4000 rev springs in it now..... Should i take it all the way to 4000 or just take it easy and go to 2500?

Benjamin 08-18-2008 08:39 PM

i'd say take it to 2500 or so for 1/2 - 3/4 of the mileage and then a little higher towards the end. and take it easy up there too, meaning low to no boost......

when we broke in a friend of mines gas engine (turbo 4) we eased it up to 4-5K and then left it in gear and let it engine break itself down to 1500-2k.... we made some soft pulls in 4th gear up to those rpms and then let off and let it slow back down. we did this for ~20-30 miles after he drove it for a week locally in town ~200-250 miles or so.... the theory is the vacuum it makes in the cyls helps seat the rings better. then after 500 miles or so we beat the living crap out of it..... then the head messed up and we had to change that but the bottom end is still good and tight. accually i'm going to get it and put it in my ranger soon..... the bottom end of the motor, forged flat-tops....mmmmmm

slowtowpig 08-18-2008 08:45 PM

i guess we were hard on ours, when we finished my buddys turbo mustang we pulled it out in the street and did a 5K boosted launch lol. different strokes for different folks i guess. but all the old school engine builders ive talked to said check for leaks then drive the heck out of it.

either way, awesome truck, let us know the results man!!!

Benjamin 08-18-2008 08:50 PM

ya i've heard that too.... they say that you are prolonging the inevitable if you do an easy break in .....

BLACK_06POWERSTROKE 08-18-2008 09:06 PM

that s a badass smoke cloud man :U::c:

Dr. Evil 08-18-2008 09:46 PM

Looking REAL good Eric...

E2theRock2 08-18-2008 10:22 PM

Yea, right now its my only running truck so its gonna get some miles put on it. Hopefully next week I will feel like I have enough miles on it to open her up and she what she can do. Gonna go take it for a drive, its so nice havin a 12v again, just raw power no electronics....Ahh thats nice.

biged681985 08-18-2008 10:45 PM

glad ya had somethin ya could back up your 08 with.

E2theRock2 08-19-2008 03:44 PM

Well that pump came in just in time i have only been waitin on it for a month.... Oh well at least i got the damn thing. Some kid in a ricer tried messin with me at lunch today and I "accidentally" but it to the floor..... i only let the revs hit 3500 before i shifted lol..... Yea he didnt want to play anymore

Benjamin 08-19-2008 04:10 PM

re tq that head before it gets too late.

2141pete 08-19-2008 04:36 PM

Lookin real good man. I've always heard and done it by break it in like you want it to run. It only cost me one head gasket so far lol. Definetley some retourques then let us know what all phasers set to kill feels like.

Mrs_E2theRock2 08-19-2008 04:50 PM

Dont blow up my truck Eric......

E2theRock2 08-19-2008 06:42 PM

Yea i re tqed everything at work today and checked for leaks and what not and it was solid as a rock truck is runnin great but it should its brand new so to speak. I opened her up a little leavin work and when both turbos spool look out! The ass end drops and smoke and then i look down and I'm doin 65mph........ in a block and a half.... lol

2500HeavyDuty 08-19-2008 11:28 PM
