Just BOMBed the Cummins this weekend, w00t!

... Got love it!
Truck runs so much better. Used the Superchips Flashpaq 3805. Net steps: gut the catalytic converter and remove that funky tube (what is it called?) between the airbox & turbo. Gonna replace the OEM filter with an Airaid. Any other budget performance tips for a noob? Attachment 57142 Attachment 57143 Attachment 57144 |
The funky tube is called an intake silencer.http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...TB06/005-2.jpg Has two baffles w/ ridges on the inside. It was designed to reduce turbo whine along with the silencer ring. That's located in the compressor housing on the turbo. Can get to it when you do the baffle delete. Welcome to Diesel Bombers!:c:

why would you want to quiet the turbo. its the best thing on the truck. maybe next thing is get a new intake manifold and get a new exuast if you dont have one. might want to think about the transmission next

... Oh no, I want to remove that silencer Replacing it with a smooth tube same diameter as the adjacent tubing. |
That's a nice looking truck. You're on your way..... :U:
