Recon Lights??

Hey guys, can i see pics of your recon lights. im mainly focusing on smoked cab lights, smoked 3rd tail light, the white lightning tailgate LED and the big rig lights. If someone cam help me out on any of the 4 thatd be awesome. Color is not a prob but id LIKE to try and see some of the smoked stuff on a silver truck if possible.

thanks!

ive always liked the look of them, i cant wait to get a set for my truck......

I have the line of fire on mine but I have no pictures of it. Not to mention it has zero to do with what you asked for.

Search for rolloffhills truck, he has quite a few lights on his truck.

CumminsCrazed 03-30-2008 11:55 AM

ok very good!!!

anyone else?

DazedandConfused 03-30-2008 12:28 PM

I would never recomend Recon to anyone for anything. There lights are very cheaply made and leak like crazy. They sent me three sets and all leaked horribly and then told me to live with it. There customer service stinks along with there product. I think if I was to do lights again I would try Putco.

Red_Rattler 03-30-2008 12:45 PM

Theres the feedback I was looking for, anyone else have any problems with Recon? I plan to purchase from them or Putco.

Anyone here deal in Putco?

Blue01F250 03-30-2008 12:57 PM

I didn't wanna bash Recon too much, my lights have worked (until recently the wiring on my lightning has become sketchy) -- but LOTS of buddies of mine have had MAJOR issues with the Recon mirror lights.. and the customer service was ridiculiously horrible. HEck, I could probably find the thread for you on the other forum...

I like the lightning, but you can find the same or cheaper stuff elsewhere -- I got the lightning on sale and the brake like on ebay -- never would pay full price for their stuff ever!

Every person I know that have had Recon lights had ditched them and went back to stock lighting. Nothing worst then getting in your truck when its raining and there is water running down the inside of the cab. I know of one guy with Putco lights and has had no problems and loves them.

I have had ZERO issues with my lights. Never leaked a drop and never failed. I did not however use the connector that came with the kit but rather hard wired each light into a harness I made up. Non-insulated butt connectors and heat shrink. I feel that is one of the issues is the connector. Then always use a dab of silicone around the holes when installing to prevent any leaks. cheap insurance

why the heck do you have a pillar pod in a gasser AJ....

RTL Garage 04-02-2008 12:30 AM

Simple - I Have Always Gauged My Oil Changes By My Oil Pressure.. And On The 4.7 OP gauge Is Famous For Fault.. So Thats One..

And It Was My Tow Pig When I Had My ZJ & It Did Not Have A Trans Temp..

Pillar Gauges = Trans Temp & Oil Press

Simple Really.

CumminsCrazed 04-02-2008 10:31 AM

ah ha gotcha!

patriot2500 04-03-2008 11:20 AM

I have Recon smoked cab lights and the line-of-fire on my truck. I have had only one cab light burn out and a small leak from another one, but they have worked fine for me and have been on the truck over a year. The line-of-fire also works great. I used to have the fire-and-ice bar on my truck but it burned out after a few months. I put some dielectric grease on the connections and taped it up and so far, so good.
