diesel mechanic toolbox

hi guys i am going to school to be a diesel mechanic next year and i was wondering what snapon box would be good for a starting out diesel mechanic. i just want something big enough and the only reason i say snap on is because i get 50% off cause im a student

50% off! That's pretty good for strap on.

Check out some of their box+tool package deals.

Load one of them up and you'll be looking pretty good for your 4 year journey

good luck with it bro!

if I could do it again I woulg get just the tools up to (I belive) the 7500 dollar limit and find a cheaper or used box. Good luck man its a tough career but worth it.

x2 just buy the tools and go with a cheaper brand of box,get a good quality box,I found the snap on boxes cheaply built, thin and flimsy drawers,I also found that one large bottom box works best ,gives you a mobile bench when you need it around the shop,I have a mac box because I financed it with them,I would probably buy a napa box if I needed a new one:w2:

x3 on that!
you are working with the tools- not with the box! But you will recognize immediately a cheap or missing tool because you spend (still expensive with 50% off) so much money on the box.
Try to get the best tools you can afford- it will pay off in the long run.

50% off of an expensive tool box is still an expensive tool box, don't you think?

dont go with snapon. they add the intrest daily, so does cornwell. go with matco or mac tools for ur box. i have a mac tech-1000. its a good starter box. i have everything up to 3 inch in it rite now. i dont mechanic for a livin anymore so i never up graded. but it has been a good box and did what i needed for my wrk. an i only gave 2500 for it used. an it still looks new to this day. its probably about a 5000 dollar box new.:rocking:

X2 on that! All of my Snap-On boxes have been very good to me. If I can sit on one of the drawers and do paperwork on the top, that isn't cheap or flimsy at all. Both my KRL's are awesome, and my HD Road Chest took 6 years in the back of a pick up. The road chest still works 100% in my garage.

I will admit i do not have one personally but, my dad has a KRL and it is far from cheap and flimsy.

got me a 24 year old snap on road chest here, beaten but still earning its keep-secondhand deals off snap on vans are pretty good.
im a big fan of mac stuff too.

good luck with your career, remember it,s not all about the tools and wrenching, there,s a serious amount of knowhow to pick up too.especially with all the new electronic cr*p they insist on smothering modern engines with.
