Life is crap?

Bought a 12mm crowfoot today.
Necessary to re-torque the hidden exhaust manifold nuts with the proper torque.

Is it worth 50 bucks?http://up.picr.de/5267218.jpg
I mean, I have no problem with spending a lot of money for good tools, but in this case I can barely see that little thingy.
In my wisedom - I thought it would be cool to have the complete metric set up to 32mm and asked for the price. I wondered about the tools dealers smile and got a shock. 900 bucks including military discount. :scare2:

Is here maybe a single girl with last name Rockefeller, Hilton orTrump on this site?
I would treat her good...

What brand is it?

Dr. Evil 09-27-2010 01:39 PM

Hazet - German made tools.

How did you know it, Dr.?:scare2:
I only have a single 14mm Snap-on nut- found it under the seat- left from the previous owner:D

I'm to scared to have a look at the snap-on site...

If you need anything Snap-on or Mac let me know. I can price it out and have it sent to you.

Just my .02, if you need it and it's keeping you from getting your vehicle back together, it's worth 50 bucks and then some.
I have some specialty tools that I've both made and purchased over the years, that might get used once in a blue moon, and it's sure nice to have them when you need them. In my opinion, one can never have too many tools.

You can buy CRAFTMAN from SEARS or HUSKY for HOME DEPOT, cheap & decent:tu:

I can agree with the "spend money once on good quality" policy. However, it all just depends on what tool it is. Those Crowfeet, for instance. I would pay for a nice set because of the nature of it (it's subject to lots of torque, and can easily break an ear off if it's made of junk!).

That said, I think $50/PIECE is a little excessive... :ouch:
You could spend $100/$150 on a nice Mac set or something and have them all... not just 3. el-oh-el

stuff is worth more to some than others...when it comes to my truck its usually worth it for me. but then the old lady comes along:w2:. that sure is a little guy for 50 bucks

Last update- this so called top brand just gathers tools from other companies, relabels it and doubles the selling price.
This seems to be common practice today as other brands do the same.

I called them about it and they answered with stupid things like guarantee and product service. How stupid is that? The original producer backs up his products with the same guarantee- so its worthless and simply expensive.:bat:

Yes, I learned my lesson with ruining expensive parts with cheap tools- we all had this experience, right?
But I start to decide now. Expensive or worth it? With the original producer I can afford to buy the complete metric and the standard set. Same quality, same tools, just a different(original) label.

There is still a huge step down to cheapo tools, that I avoid.
