What scan tool do I need?

What scan tool is fairly inexpensive and will check all of the parameters I need for my Duramax? Don't really have a lot of money.

I've got an Actron I keep around for my small fleet. It was about $100 and gives you the code along with a description so you don't have to look up what the code is. Probably not the best tool out there, but it has been very handy for my occasional use.

Im gonna assume this works on diesel engines? I mean this IS Diesel Bombers. and where did you get it?

I got it Napa and it works on my Dodge. I had an EGR out of temp range pop up once after a really cold start and it pulled the code, said what it was, and cleared it out no problem.

Check with www.kennedydiesel.com They carry one for $100. I only mention that one since into Duramax diesels. But I would confirm it can read the TCM codes. All scanners will see ECM codes and the generic P0700 but if the TCM has codes some will not read those. If they do let us know.
