Ball joint replacement. Which press?
I would like to replace the ball joints of my Cherokee.
Which press should I use? I'm afraid of getting one of those Chinese one's by inexperience, that will probably bend. Can't afford those hydraulic one's- makes no sense for two higher and two lower joints. Any recommendations for me? Thanks in advance! |
Just get the ball joint press from autozone. It worked on my ball joints. It won't bend, and it's free to rent.

Next Autozone is just 6728km away...:dm:
Dealers over here go like: You want whhhaaaaat???? And you show you those fancy hydraulic presses for about a monthly income. |
Oh sorry. Didn't even notice you location. Well I just used a regular ball joint press. Aren't there places you can rent something like that from?

Get the cheapo... Its not gonna bend the casting of the C-Clamp. Heck, I have one from Harbor Freight (Cheapo tool store if you don't know what they are, not sure they have them in Germany), and its done a dozen ball joints, a few U-Joints, and some other things it certainly wasn't intended for... Hasn't broken on me yet.

x2. The big C clamp thing in the gray case works awesome. I've done several balljoints and U joints with one.
