home made sway bar links..
3 Attachment(s)
well i snapped my sway bar links off this summer and instead of spending the 90 dollars a side i made my own... the old ones were like 7/16 bolts so i went to 1/2 inch bolts bout 8 inches long, got new bushings from bds. and for my spacer between the the 2 inside bushing i took 5 inch black pipe, cut it to 4.5 inches, with flat washers, and a nylock nut. painted to sorta match the truck, and i included some pics.. i didnt know how well they would up but so far they are holding up wonderfully!!
Attachment 36026 ya i got a power steering leak, but for a 85 dollar gasket im saving up for a new sector anyhow Attachment 36027 Attachment 36028 |

All for bout 35 dollars, the most expensive was the bushings.. 20 bucks for those, and 5 bucks for the can of paint. And 10 bucks for 2 pipes, 2 8"x1/2" bolts, 8 flat washers, and 2 nuts, haha, definatly beats the 90+ dollars.

should have got grade 8...
|
If these snap off then I will be upgrading to grade 8 and go maybe an inch longer.. cause if you know the stock suspension they have some travel.. and before I had no travel so it put a lot of pressure on the old ones..
