Typically that would be the first step of diagnosis, prior to removing the injectors. Just assumed you had checked it. The fuel filter won't cause it, it's possible the pump is producing low pressure...

Take a water hose and start from the lowest points and work up. If the windshield is leaking just have it replaced or resealed by a Mobile auto glass company.

This is such a mess. Pressurize the tank or use a smoke machine. If not leaks on suction side outside of tank then most likely the pickup is cracked. What about the elbow at the fuel pump is it good?...

I use the typical 80's -90's Ford regulator without issue. I've seen them show a check gauges and show no charging voltage but that seems to be more common when not using the hot wire initially used...

Sounds like a bad regulator, a bad regulator ground, or a bad field ground. Guess it could be the key on source to regulator below 12v too.

Make sure you order the dial style. Any snap on or matco truck will stock them. I've never had issues pulling pinions with impact and taking it slow. It's how every gear train shop I've been in does...

I'm saying that a truck built with 300rwhp made to make 700rwhp regardless of modification isn't going to be as all out reliable as a truck with 300rwhp. They wear quicker. Design limits if you will....
