'95 12v SCLB with Greasecar WVO kit.

14 Attachment(s)
Ok guys, this is my daily driver, but I'm thinking I'd like to step down to a TDI Jetta or something with better MPGs, because with my new job I do a pretty long commute.

Anyway, heres what's on it:

1995 12v 132,xxx
-Gauges (boost, pyro and trans temp.) and an old oil pressure gauge currently used for fuel pressure.
-New Halo/Projector 1-piece headlights.
-New LED tail lights
-New LED 3rd brake light. (too bad it's clear, last owner should've bought smoked out to match the black. simple tint spray-paint fix)
-Recent tires. probably 80% tread left!

Engine:
-Greasecar WVO kit with Controller and full filtration system(~$3k). Have all documentation and manuals. 40 gal heated tank with fuel level sensor. (ready to go, barrels and all!)

Details on Filtration kit: ($930)

Details on WVO kit: ($1,575) PLUS the Co-Pilot Computer. ($300)
http://www.greasecar.com/products/ra...ecar-truck-kit

-#0 Fuel Plate in 'standard/neutral' position, not full forward. Otherwise, AFC untouched.
-Boost elbow (not adjustable, just has a calibrated hole in it. good for about 23-25psi under load)
-New lift pump. (Shiver Diesel in Tallahassee, FL) 2k miles ago ($120)
-New Wix filter 500 miles ago. *Note: Water In Fuel sensor needs replacing. a wire pulled out. no biggy.
-New fuel heater pre-filter screen this week from Geno's Garage. *Note: Fuel heater deleted. 1 less thing to leak air...
-New Tork Teknology overflow valve, rated for WVO and Bio-Diesel (Stainless Steel) ($50)
-New Tork Teknology fuel gauge Snubber. ($20)
-New 4k Gov Spring Kit *Not Installed yet. ($115)
-New batteries. <1 year ($160)
-New starter brushes set
-New waterpump/t-stat around a year ago
-TPS Potentiometer and Capacitor installation. Able to move lockup speed from factory (40mph or so) to around 60mph if you're towing.
-K&N filter
-4" turbo-back straight pipe

Trans:
-New trans went in only 2k miles ago! Details:
-Reman'd AT trans from American Transmission with upgraded 'Redline' clutches(have $2500 receipt)
-Edge Racing Coverters 'Workhorse' torque converter. Garunteed to 900ft. lbs (have $600 receipt)
-Running Castrol ATF +4.
-Only catch: Dipstick mounting bracket broke so I tac-welded it back on, but I think it's leaking a little bit.

Cosmetic Issues
-Cup holder broke (note tape in pics) (junk yard, $cheap)
-Temp adjustment knob broke. Needs a new knob (climate control works, just can't adjust with knob. need to use pliers. (junk yard, $cheap)
-Panel under steering column is trying to fall off. needs replacement (junk yard, $cheap.)
-Back right kick panel behind the tire is dented in down low (can see it in the pics, it's not bad) from a blow out from previous owner.

$8,000
I realize that's a high-er price, but it's a clean, low mileage 12v with some practical mods. They are harder and harder to come by! I think that's about what it's worth. By all means, send me your best offer, the worst I can say is "no."

I need to sell the truck. That means I'm pretty flexible on the price. Let's get ready for income tax season and pick up a new Puller truck project!!! :D

Well I will bump this for you. I am sure other people are interested in what all you have to do to run that biodiesel through your truck. So could you explain what all you need to do to run that fuel? Also how much does it usually take to make a batch of fuel? What type of mileage are you getting running biodiesel and just straight diesel fuel? Just a few questions Im sure everyone would like to know.

monster12valve 01-02-2011 12:33 PM

it runs on used cooking oil.... like mcdonalds french fry grease when there done with it.. not biodiesel

Apmcrx 01-02-2011 05:12 PM

Right. Any cooking oil is acceptable, but the cleaner the restaurant, usually the cleaner the grease.

This is the system I follow:
One man's trash is another man's fuel | Greasecar Vegetable Fuel Systems

I haven't noticed any change in MPG while running it. Maybe a couple mpg if anything. It's a very reliable source of fuel, and is very simple to harvest. As far as how long it takes to make a batch, generally the longer he better to allow more water seperation, but if the oil is clean, i just let it set for a minimum of 24 hrs in the collection jugs and then transfer it to the main barrel through a 400 and/or 100 miron screen.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the setup, but i'll try to ge some soon.
Thanks for bumping my thread, guys.

I own A restaurant, and have a fryer that only cooks fresh potatos . I filter the oil and dump it in my tank at a mixture ratio of 80% oil to 20% diesel in the summer . It runs alot better of oil mix than it does straight diesel . 2 summers under my belt so far with no complications . I stock and store the oil thru fall and winter and have about 275 gallons for summer every year :jump:

Awesome! What's nice about this particular system is that it has heating coils (uses engine coolant) in the tank that make sure the oil is viscous enough to run without a hickup. No dilution needed!
