Can Anybody Give Me Info On Kore

I'm lookin for info on a Kore system or any of the similar kits out there.

DB Admin 10-12-2007 05:07 AM

I have the KORE front suspension and i think its great ,,, and i found out i would of saved a ton of $$$ by NOT going direct and using a dealer instead

www.koreperformance.com

Real tough kits for the Dodge.
Last year a Kore lifted Dodge took second place in the stock diesel class of the Baja 500.

Uncle Bubba 10-12-2007 06:27 PM

Any ideas on prices. These things seem to be a best kept secret. They are advertised everywhere but no dealers wanna give details and nobody shows prices on their sites.

Cowhand 10-12-2007 07:10 PM

Try Carli suspension....http://thecarlisuspension.com

Similar system, but better performance, price and customer service.

Don't buy into the hype, the Dodge that finished Baja doesn't run the same stuff Kroeker sells off the shelf.

Don Thuren is also great to deal with, and he can set you up with a system tailored to your needs...http://thurenfabrication.com

Thanks Cowhand. I don't know the difference one from another myself and I don't plan on winnin any off road races in the near future. I just need a to lift the front and back of my truck about 2"-3" and I need a new stabilizer. Kore just happened to be the only name that I found made that short of a lift and they come with a new stabilizer.

Diesel Nut 10-13-2007 10:20 AM

Kore is a pain to work with, and insanely expensive. Thats why we dropped them. I still get calls on them and tell customers we don't sell it any more. Too much of a mess. And they keep jacking up the prices. $800 for a leveling kit??? Ridiculous.

DM - You would have had to find a big dealer that was willing to knock down the price to save. Smaller dealer just don't get enough margin to allow any sort of deals.

Uncle Bubba 10-13-2007 11:27 PM

How about some other options then with general prices just to give me an idea on which direction to go. I just said Kore cause in one of the last few issues of Diesel Power it talked about a truck runnin the Kore leveling kit with all the accesories being in the $500 range.

Diesel Nut 10-15-2007 03:46 PM

Well, bilstein shocks are pretty easy to come by. Basically, either get a set of spacers or maybe some superlift 2" springs, add the bilsteins are you should still be around $500 or so. May not be the same Hi performance springs as Kore, but about half the cost too.

Uncle Bubba 10-15-2007 07:26 PM

Thanks Nut. In all I need new shocks, front springs and steering stabilizer and I would like either an add a leaf or new leaf pack for the rear to raise the qhole truck the 2-3 inches I want.

I have spacers right now and have always hated the way they make the truck ride. They're fine for daily driving but when you load the rear of the truck up your lookin into space and at night everybody flashhes their lights at me cause it looks like my brights are on.

Diesel Nut 10-15-2007 08:12 PM

Yeah, thats the downside to a truck sitting level unloaded. I'll pull some part numbers up and see what we can do.

Cowhand 10-15-2007 09:17 PM

Uncle Bubba...that's almost funny, I work with a guy we call Uncle Bubba....

I'd recommend the Bilsteins all the way around. You can get a 3" coil from Carli or Thuren. It's roughly a 400# rate (compared to around 440 or so for your OEM coils), make the front ride very nice. As far as the rears, the problem with the 2500/3500 trucks is getting that big chunk of iron on top of the axle to move. In order to achieve the load carrying capacity, the leaves in the spring have to be fairly thick (or a 10-12 leaf progressive pack, which is $$$$), consequently they don't move very well when driving unloaded. There's really only two options, put up with the bone jarring ride, or go with an add a pack/airbag combo. That's what I'm running on my 2nd gen, works pretty well. There's a third option, replacing the whole leaf pack, but a nice pair of leaf springs will run you close to $1K.

If you want to one-stop shop it, Carli has a starter kit that includes coils, add a pack, shocks and sway bar end links. IIRC, the kit runs about $1300, it'll give you +3" ride height in the front and 1-1.5" in back. It'll ride and handle tons better, but if you haul or pull heavy, you'll want to airbag the rear. My 27' toy hauler with a 900# TW will squat the back 3-4", that's why I run the bags. But it sure rides better empty....

Feel free to PM me in you have any othe questions.....

Thanks Cowhand. I borrowed the name from one of my horses. Thought that was a safe way to have one not already being used. I started out back in 99 on these sites using 99 cummins as my handle and through the years ther got to be so many other guys usin the name in different variations that nobody knew who was who anymore.

I just wish I wasn't so tight with a dollar, or am I just poor. Guess it boils down to the same thing in the end. I keep lookin at the air system but even it gets a little pricey when you put all the parts together and I'm lookin at the wholesale prices for it. Maybe I need to put together a group buy and see if enough people would be interested to get a price break on it. Guess I'm just gonna have to settle for fixin up the front end and call it good at these prices.

Uncle Bubba 10-21-2007 07:00 AM

Hey Diesel Nut, any luck on those prices yet. I also sent off for some more info on the Carli system. Looks like some nice equipment, I'm just waitin on the sticker shock when I hear back from him.

Uncle Bubba 10-23-2007 02:37 AM

I'm back to the drawing board. I heard back from Carli today about his basic system. $1300 plus is a little out a this country boy's price range.

alaskaflyer 11-02-2007 07:59 PM

Try looking at Lorenz suspension, I think it's 1000 for a similar set up as the Carli starter system.
