I would suggest going with a 1054 if you don't have a bigger turbo, or if you want a looser converter, the 1058 is what i run and like it now after running it for 4 months. it couples aggresively and hold the power great.
And the 1057 is available if you want to pay $1895 for it. They have to cut two brand new converters apart to make one 1057, because all the cores have dried up.

1055 is not intended for towing, you can if your persistent but its more or a sled/drag converter with big chargers

uummm...Danno. Go back and read your post again. :w2: Last time I checked a sled is towing. Yes, the 1055 is plently capable for towing even though its intended use was for the drage strip.

Sled pulling and towing is a lot different Your Towing for a long time , sled pulling is instant

Alot of big sled pullers use single disk converters , for towing the triple is best

When using a big charger, not very a friendly to tow a 5er with a gt45 anyway

Mike is good people, if you can get him to build you trans. you won't be disapointed. He is the best in the business. If you can get a 1057 from him, I would definitely go that route, that is by far the best all around converter imo.
