Hopefully soon to be owner of 1st gen cummins

Hello everybody! My names Nate and this is my first post, and im wondering about a price or if i should go for a truck. Right now im a 17 Y/O with a minimum wage job so income is not the greatest to say the least. As of now i have a daily commuting car and the diesel will not be an everyday thing, more else a hunting rig and something to take our duck boat. Anyways Ive found two worth looking at, the first is a 91 D250 4x4, 271000 thousand miles witha 5 speed. The paint is flakey and not totally great, and theres some rust on the panels and no tailgate. The guy is asking 4150 and too me that seems high, but maby not. The other is a 92 D350 with a low mile motor. The truck has 180000 miles on it, with the brakes/knuckles/u-joints having less than 1000 miles on them. There is however a problem. The foward clutches in the auto are out, and the guy says that those cost 600 at a tranny shop, and the harmonic balancer is going. It also is leaking some oil out of the valve covers. He's asking 2200, he says it can safely be on the road for 3000. So any help is appreciated!

id look at the 91. more miles but if it was taken care of you still have alot of miles to go on, take it for a test drive, let it get good and warmed up then take it out and put your foot in it...if its still got good power see if you can talk him down a lil but from what you said i think thats the best choice. you will probley put 2000 in parts in the 92 easy
