600hp 7.3 mpg question

Hi im kind of new here but I have a question. My dad had a 2001 7.3 powerstroke f350 dually and I loved that truck. Right now I drive an 01 f150 but I am looking into a diesel. I already know i want a 7.3 powerstroke and i want to modify it to get around 600-700 hp, I already know what i have to do to get it there, I am by no means rich. it will be a long project. My question is what should my mpg be when I get there. it will be a crew cab short bed srw 4x4. so what kind of gas milage should i expect?

All depends on how you drive it

First off you have to get 600 out of the 7.3 How hard will that be?

Walker-light 04-30-2012 07:33 PM

yes i do know it will be a pain in the :moon: but i think it will be worth it. i know it will be about a 2-3 year project

600 isn't that hard if you have the money

Fire Power 04-30-2012 07:37 PM

OOO OK

Some 250-300s, matching Turbo, oil, chip, headstuds, trans mods, custom chip, fuel system. There is 600+ right there

what is the point of getting 600-700 HP from a diesel?

For a working truck there is no point, op hope you will be happy with less. A 300hp tuned 7.3 gets good mileage.:jump:

There's a dyno proven 650 rwhp 7.3 for sale right now on PSA. I believe he's asking like $23k. You are basically buying a built motor and getting the rest of the truck for free. To my knowledge he's in over $30k into the motor alone.
