92 Dodge 3/4T 4WD Cummins
 

Full disclosure - I own a 1994 Suburban 3/4 ton w/ the 6.5l diesel. But I am leaning strongly towards buying a 92 dodge w/ the 5.9 turbo diesel in it.

I'd be using the truck to take crap to the dump, but mainly with an eye towards dropping the engine in my 'burban once the 6.5 gives me significant problems. The 92 has the 46RH transmission in it, which I've heard can be problematic. What I'd like to know is if anyone can tell me anything about the 92 cummins. He wants 2200 for the truck - I figured I'd start with 1500 cash in my pocket and see if I get any bites.

I don't know much about the 5.9 other than folks seem to love them, they out pull anything else out there and get good mileage.

Oh yeah - fairly new to the diesel world....

check the body mounts on the cab then the around the steering box i normally buy these trucks to use the 5.9 in other projects. dont know about the tranny . i give away what i dont use to a local scrap person as my neighbors will complain about clutter .
