may I ask, is your 4*4 duramax a 4door 3500 dually? i ask because I am definitely in the market for a 1 ton 4 door 4*4, and have not heard any0one mention 20 mpg except in a dodge

And again I'm not saying that dmax's don't get good mileage, I've seen properly tuned dmax's topple 25mpg, even know of a reg cab 2500 that went 29mpg, but it was tuned just right. And there will be bad cases too. My neighbor has an 06 LBZ, CC SB 4wd, and he gets a best of 16 mpg. And he's a little over 50 years old, its not like he hot rods the thing around. Throw a small trailer on the back, and it drops down to 12mpg. But his truck is bone stock too, I'm sure with a freer flowing exhaust and intake, and good tuning, it would improve significantly.

As a whole, it seems that the Cummins will get a little better mileage, but either way, its not gonna be horrible. Just don't get a gasser 3/4 or 1 ton :tu:
