Please help noob!!
This is probably a question you guys see often, and i apologize for that. I promise that I have indeed used the search tool before posting this. I may have missed it, but i just dont feel i have found my answer yet. i'll take any advice you guys can offer, whether its a link to a similar thread or just new advice....
So I'm ready to sell my Nissan Titan and buy a dodge diesel. I want to buy an older dodge so that i can take the money i save after selling my newer, far from stock Titan, and put it towards upgrades. its virtually impossible to get the power i want from that Titan. My question is which motor...12v or 24v? Ideally, i want to build a 700 or so hp monster. Its not for any specific purpose like towing or drag racing. i have a car for daily driving so the truck isnt even for every day. i just want a fun, multi-purpose truck that can handle anything. But anyway, which motor is best for that amount of horsepower and will hold up better and longer? i will ask more specific questions such as what upgrades and transmission choices in the more appropriate forums. thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any and all advice. PS....I do not own the 98 12v that in my sig. I just put it there to start posting here. |
I like the 12V:tu:

cool
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I'm not so sure though |
24v CR

12 valves some would say are easier to make power bc of the more mechanical fuel system. but there are 24v out there that make the same power just in a more computerized sense. all depends on what your looking for.

well im just looking for the motor that will hold up to the 700hp range the most consistantly and reliably...on fuel only if its possible. after buying the truck im gonna have at least 10 grand to spend on transmission and motor upgrades without anything else out of pocket. then, if i have to spend more i will. i want to do it all right the first time. and if it matters to anyone im probably going with a built nv4500 for my tranny. thanks for all the reponses so far.
