1995 Freightliner FL70 W/ 5.9 Cummins

Looking @ buying a 95 Freightliner FL70 with a 5.9 Cummins. The truck has a early 5.9 @ 190 HP and it weights 12,000 LBS Empty. The only reason I'm looking @ it is that it only has 31,000 Miles. The truck has a 6 speed trans and air cond. The owner says it runs @ 65 MPH Lodaded with 20,000 LBS. Which is hard to believe to me.
Can I put a Bigger Turbo on it ? What elese do I need to do to make it work for pulling 20,000 LBS ?
THanks for the help

You sure it doesn't have a 230-250hp CAT or an 8.3l 315hp CUMMINS came in it?? Thats what most came with. I find it hard to believe a 190hp Cummins came in that big thing.

Questions, questions, questions.........

Check the engine size. It could possibly have a 5.9 I think but more likely it would be an 8.3 if it's a Cummins. The first question that you should always ask before buying a truck is "what am I going to do with it?" Answer that then figure out what you need. IMO if you have to buy the truck and then change stuff right away to make it work, you may have bought the wrong truck. When you say you are going to pull 20K, is that the weight of your trailer? If it is, where are you going to drive this truck? Mountains, plains etc. Are you pulling a trailer or carrying the load on the truck?
Answer all of those type of questions then get the truck you need to do the job. A truck is a tool, you gotta get the right one for the job.
Stay safe out there.
