new to be diesel owner need advise

im looking to buy my first diesel and am looking at a 97 dodge 2500 cummins with a 12 valve for 7000 it has a 186000 miles and 3in lift with 17 inc rims and 33 inch tires. claims he has done maintence regularly and is just starting to see a little rust on the door sills. he also claims that he has had some tuneing done and is at about 300 horse. im wondering if this would be a good truck to buy or am i gonna run in to some major problems with it down the road because of the milage(ex. like are things gonna start to fail because it has over 160,000). i wanna spend under 10,000 if i could. thinkin about going to look at it this weekend so the more adivise on what to look for and ask him the better, its a sharp lookin truck for a 97

186k miles is fine. I had a '97 1-ton and it was ran outta oil a few times before I got it and once when I got it. It finally blew with 290k miles on it and a good amount of mods. Had it not been ran dry it would have lasted forever.
