Replace my EGR&Cooler OR EGR delete???

I have a 03 6.0 powerstroke my coolant has been puking and my check engine light came on and the code was 0405 which I was told was the egr valve. So I'm pretty sure my cooler is clogging and the valves sticking correct me if I'm wrong please I'm only 22 so now my ?is should I replace it with stock parts(stock egr cooler) or replace it with an after market cooler??? Or should I just put an full egr delete kit??? I kinda wanted to stay street leagal cause who knows how the law will go(I'm in California) but should I just say :edit: it my trucks got 67 000 miles I got a four inch down pipe straight pipe all the way to the back , an afe intake and a super chips programer which is not really used very often can I get some help guys I'm younge and don't really have like 5 grand laying around so cost efficent is also on my mind

thanks for the reply. I was also hearing that I would have to have a custom tune after the delete is instaled cause I guess it throw the check engine light on??

Well I thank it depends on the kit you get. I have installed an egr delete kit on an 03 6.0 and it eliminated the egr cooler and blocked off the exhaust flow to the egr but it kept the old egr vavle in place and hooked up so it wont throw a code.
