y do u want black thats wasted fuel if you want it so bad get some injectors and a programmer

gpandlf 11-17-2009 07:25 PM

injectors and a chip....

Benjamin 11-17-2009 08:05 PM

plastic bag over the air filter :humm: that will restrict your airflow and cause you to have black smoke......

OR

.......build your truck for power and the smoke will come......

Uncle Bubba 11-17-2009 08:07 PM

All smoke is, is fuel that you don't have enough air to burn. So anything you can do to add excess fuel and restrict air intake will produce smoke, waste fuel, clog sensors and wash out cylinder walls.

MRaynor 11-17-2009 08:13 PM

Bubba is exactly correct, along with the fact that almost everyone will think you have a half broken down POS that smokes. :td::td:

Is that really the image that you want to bring on yourself, much less make it harder with EPA restrictions?

Gauges first, chip, injectors, new lift pump, and a good turbo

try lighting a huge turbo without smoke.....

wildbill 11-17-2009 08:55 PM

Well, all people are doing when they billow black smoke out the ass end of the truck is

1) piss off other drivers
2) piss the EPA off
3) waste fuel in turn to
4) waste a lot of money
5) damage the engine from excess soot

I thought it was cool for a couple days, THEN I GREW UP and STOPPED doing it.

get a fueling box. that will give you smoke, and more importatnly, more power!

MUDDY 11-17-2009 10:14 PM

i want a million mile engine. i also dont want to change engine oil prematurely. do you realize how bad you soot up the oil with unecesary soot? i also want the most mpg i can get with a reasonable power level. i am a happy boy now. good power with just a puff of low boost smoke. i can go out of my way to smoke someone but it is rare that i do so. although i have been guilty in the past, i realize there are more important things than trying to 'show off'. :c:

dodgeram666 11-18-2009 08:17 PM

ok what do you recommend i do to this truck to make it better :humm:

Uncle Bubba 11-18-2009 08:22 PM

Just lookin at your signature it says gauges but doesn't say for what you have to have a fuel pressure gauge and a Pyro before you add any HP Mods to it. Boost is good but not essential.

After that it looks like you still need an air intake to keep the temps down and then the fueling box and injectors in no particular order.

If this is an Auto tranny your also gonna need to be thinkin how to beef that up to hold the power. If it's a manual your fine for a while.

dodgeram666 11-18-2009 09:34 PM

Ya I have a pyro a fuel pressure boost and a diff temp
