2WD NP205 "PTO" Drive

put a 205 with a twin stick on it, that way you could shut off the drive to the rear tires and you could have a 10 speed "PTO" on your 5 speed or a 8/6 speed "PTO" on your O/D or 3 speed automatic, plus 2 reverse speeds, use it for driving pumps, hydraulic units, a generator or whatever else, i am thinking about doing this on my F-SuperDuty when i start my PM service company this winter. what do you guys think???? 205's are dime a dozen here in florida.

if the 205's are that plentifull down there bring a couple up here for my power wagon or whats left of it, i been looking for awhile and cant find one around here that will bolt up to my SM 435

didn't the 1st gen dodge cummins have np205's??
could one of those be used on my tranny? pretty much bolt on?

i don't have a problem with my t-case. but i think a 205 would be a nice conversion

i would have to research some more, but i believe that the 1st gens had the np 218 and np 208 in them, the adaptor between the tranny and transfer would have to be fab'd up or maybe get one from advance adaptors or someone like that.

they used a 205, but they dropped to the passenger side, you need a drivers side drop. your tranny has alot better gearing, 2.72 to 1 compared to the 1.96 to 1 of the 205, but the 205 is probably 3 times as strong.

i want the passenger side drop, the platform i used for my hybird was a 78 stepside 4x4, so my front drives from the passenger side
