Underwater Diesel Hummer
It should be the russian GAZ 2330 "Tiger". It's almost a copy of the Hummer. The Hummer itself has a much longer wheelbase. The GAZ is available to civilians.
People in the background talking some eastern language... |
agreed.. didnt look like a hummer to me..
the non civilian hummers in some forms are outfitted in certain configurations to do just that.. altho watching jeeps and other smaller rigs here with exhaust and intake run high drive completely submerged is pretty impressive |
heck of a fish finder if you ask me :w2:
It was cool but any military Humvee can drive under water as long as the snorkel is above water.
Ya see yall are all worryed about the snorkel and the exhaust not getting wet what i want to know is were is the snorkel for the driver. If the cab is under water his head is under water.
And that nasty water, no wonder he went a little off course. I thought for sure he was done for when he went in reverse.

Max fording depth for a military HMMWV is 60 inches....funny thing is, for the Marine Corps 7 ton's, max fording depth is also 60 inches! Electronics issues with the 7 ton.
Cool... I like how he had to come up for air and then gets the door open quickly the 2nd time. Good stuff that air is, we kind of need that. :trapped: :D

People in the background talking some eastern language... Looks like that would lead to a nasty smelling interior :scare2: |

Whatever the case it certainly isnt a GM 6.2/6.5 that the Hummers came with. Maybe someone switched it out for a 4bt.... |
i remember seeing some pictures of one for the russian army, and they mounted a wood burning stove in the left rear passenger seat
Really cool video..hehe. Eh maybe i'll try it one day...but my favorite is: pushing snow with the bumper
My granddad would tell me an my cousins stories of when he was in the Army (right after WWII) of when they would do water crossings with the Duce 1/2. He said they would use piping to create a snorkels then chain or link the trucks together bumper to bumper, send one guy swiming across the river then tie the steering wheels down and put the trucks in low gear and would send the trucks in. When the trucks came out on the other side the guy that swam across would have to jump in and drive the first one and take it out of gear and keep going down the line as they cam out of the water........don't know how true the stories were but sound legit as long as the electronics did not get we, but back then there were no to many electronics and the water stayed out of the intake it should work i guess.
