Body Lifts... The Ugly Side

Body Lifts... The Ugly Side
These are old pictures from a call I ran a few years back, just came across them again cleaning out the old computer... Kid hit a ditch, pretty hard, Truck stayed on its wheels... If I remember correct there was no rust or prior weakness in the frame, I think it was a combination of the extra leverage the body lift gave and using to small of washers on the kit... Just thought some of y'all would like the pictures. Kid was fine...

what did the bolts snap and the cab just fall off the frame. i had a body lift on my old dakota, my buddy helped put it on, and we put the washers on the wrong side in my bed, and it would move a couple of inches back and forth. eventually we figured it out, and i never had a problem since.

I had a body lift on my 79 chevy stepside... stayed pretty solid.. Hardest part was riasing those saddle bombs (gas tanks) on the side so they didn't hang down.. I used a kit and Installed it to the instructions though.. Lots of off roading and it never shifted...
BTW: Note to those putting a lift in... DO NOT INSTALL IT IN THE GARAGE... (I'll let you guess what the outcome was)...

My buddy did that a few years back funny as hell. He was all happy with his new body lift like 3" I think it was pulled the truck in the garage and then he called me a while later and said got my lift on... said cool how is it bring it by let me check it out.... he said it looks awesome sitting in the garage cant get out. I LMAO went over there he was all pissed off the funniest crappin thing I ever seen. We ended up takin the tires off and rolling it out on floor jacks .
