axle swap GM to Dodge dana 44 and 60
I have been told that there is different widths between the dodges and GMs axles. I have put GM axles in a couple power wagons without any problems but I was recently told that the dodge axles are a bit wider. Have I been lucky enough that the bushings where whore out enough that the axles would go in or are these guys nuts that are telling me this? I am referring to the 93 and older dodges and the 87 and older chevys.

Are you talking about different widths hub-to-hub or pearch-to-pearch? Because those are two different issues in themselves...

i've been wondering what would be a good donor axle for the front of my truck as well. the ifs rides good but i would like to do a solid axle swap someday.

I was referring from perch to perch. I just got a old international in today that I thought might be a good axle donor also. It has a dana 44 with really low miles on it.

The difference in chev and dodge dana 60's are 1/2". The dodge 60 is narrower. But because the dodge springs are 2.5" wide and the chevs are 3" wide, you can offset the spring bushings to get the dodge axle to line up properly when using 2.5" wide springs.

I run a dodge 60 in my 87 chevy and it does great it is about a 1/2 inch narrower then a chevy 60 but Ive never had a problem with it
