Is this mud truck a good deal?
 

I found a guy selling a 78 chevy mud truck project. It is setup as a cab amd chassis single cab that was running a 4wd with a 400 turbo and flywheel still in it, but no motor. The truck has nearly new mud tires amd descent condition wheels. There is some rust through on the edge of the passenger side fender. The interior is all there minus a door panel. He wants $700 for it. I can get a motor for it from.the junkyard fpr 500-1000 if its a 454 depending on comdition. Is this truck a good deal?

Cool! Anyone else have thoughts??? I only want it as a mud truck, so it wont hardly be going on the road if at all. mostly just dirt roads about a 1/4 mile from the house.

Id give 250 by the time its running and everything you'll be at 1000

Those pics bring back good memories, I used to have a 78 shortbox same color as that. I say talk him down as much as you can, start at 300 :c:

I have 3 c10's all swb,1 wrecked 82 2wd new motor,tranny and rear end 2 months old before it was wrecked.paid 330 to get it out of impound.1 78 4x4 clear title gotit for plowin 2 acres and my baby 84 gmc 2wd real clean truck got it for 1500.if its titled 500 no title then half.I paid 100 for a no titled 83 toyota ran and drove great

hmm.. well looking a kind of good deal but I would like to know more about its engine status and how old it is??
motor is also not available there.
Do you have any idea how much will it cost to get all the stuffs repaired?

I just picked up a 79 shortbox k10 with a 6" lift and 35's for $400. It hadnt ran in a year, ran fuel line from pump to gas can and fired right up!! I just need to clean out the fuel tank and clean out the carb. No rust :jump:

ANYTHING AROUND 500$ WOULD BA GOOD FOR THIS TRUCK AS THIS TRUCK WILL NEED SERVICING AND THIS WILL CAUSE YOU SOME EXTRA EXPENSES SO IT WOULD BE BETTER DEAL FOR IT

i have a 79 k10 all time 4x4 and love it. i would start at 300 and go from there ask questions as to what will he do with it if not sold if he says scrap it wait out u may be able to pick it up hecka cheap. where in from its like a 200 dollar truck. would look good though witha 12v in it.
