trying to bleed air from fuel lines, om617

starting from dry, remanufactured ip and empty lines. i primed fuel to the filter, no problem. i got air to bleed out of 4 and 5 pretty quick, eventually got #3, nothing from 1 and 2. can i expect it to just take freaking forever?:argh:

From what I've been reading, sounds like an air bubble in the ip. Seems like I also read somewhere to bench prime the ip too.

i recently had that problem, and cranked and cranked for rediculouse amounts of time,

I eventully added in a electrc Fuel pump ( 3-6psi for and Carborated Engine) that helped and I did get istarted that way wired to a push button switch, and after it was started, the fuel sucks through the pump.

a week later I discovered my fuel shut of lever was not opening and contributing to my problem, so Id check that too!!

so problem turned out to be, ready, i had the fuel lines backwards. doh! must have been a whiskey night...

after i fixed that i found my modification to the stock fuel pump was causing a problem too, so had to drop the tank and fix that. she runs like a raped ape now!!

Om617 hesitation fuel problems

i have a 82 300sd and just recently it started to get to where it would have hesitation and die down but once you put it in Park fire it up hammer on it then go back in gear it would be fine but got to where it was ubearable I’ve looked into a lot of fourms I’ve already changed the 2 fuel filters blown the lines out with a air compressor took tank out cleaned it out a holy blue behind it but the holly blue helped except I would have to turn it on and off to give it the fuel it needed I’ve ran out of ideas options and resorses any help would be appreciated

May be a rotten fuel line that is sucking shut, check any rubber portions of the line, or take it loose at the pump and draw out of a jug. If the problem doesnt resurface, then the issue is between there and the tank.

BTW, you might want to start your own thread, so it isnt tied into Rucktard's thread.
