Great engine for repowering from a big block Bravo 3 with some kind of gearset change.....(not much up on what was done). Anyways...it works very well. Plenty of speed, good power, great economy, and didn't break the bank to install. My dad knows the skinny....I'm just the grunt force. |
OK maybe a stupid question as I am not to boat savy
but I will throw it out there for those with more knowledge than me Q. Is there a such thing as a diesel outboard? If so what Hp ratings do they come in Also what price range What I have is a 175 glasstron with a 115 JE V4 |
yes,
they had some old, harbor master huge rige made form like 4:53's i believe yanmar makes some diesel outboards but priced way high! ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- here yah go http://www.yanmar.com.au/marine/d_series/dseries.htm |
WOW
I would likely have to put at least 2 of those yanmars to get me on plane and toodling down the lake at a fair clip. Might loook pretty cool to.. 17' fish an ski with twins.... who knows |
i think i saw some where you only need half the hp on a diesel outboard compaired to a gasser.
50hp diesel to 100hp gas |
Unfortunately our dear EPA has determined that the Yanmar outboards are not good enough for you to own.
|
Why is that carbon?
|
The emission output was beyond what the EPA has determined to be an acceptable level.
These engines come up on fleabay from time to time and are available in the islands. |
