There is a brief video of it here. DURAMAXTUNER.COM | Custom EFILive Tunes for Duramax powered GM Vehicles:U:

What is the difference between the 1055-1056-1058. converters?

Tyler@MPF 07-13-2009 07:09 AM

The stalls, some have a higher stall better for racing. The 1056 is your more of the all purpose converter. That is why we both run them. They allow the turbo's to spool, but are still good for towing and daily driving.

Tyler@MPF 08-18-2009 01:08 PM

Update, the trans gets put back in tomorrow. I went with a SC1055 converter. It has a higher stall. This has proven to be better for the 4094VVT.

We will have some numbers soon.

BLACKDX 08-19-2009 04:05 PM

Sounds good. Finally got my suncoast IV installed too since i posted here. I have the 1058 conv. Seems good so far just , got about 2000 mi on it now. What a difference in holding power its awesome. The dashawk TC slip is nil..One more thing I thought i'd thro out there, I was having a shifting prob, slamming into gear. This i the second time this happened to me. Once with the dpf on and level 4 on PPE, and now again with the DPF off and level 5.. Changed out the primary fuel filter and all is well again. Even tho it was only 50% life with the fass lift on too.Seems to mess up the shifting..
MPF what trans temps are you seeing? With the SCIV I'm up to 200-208F @ 80f with no load. I'm told this is normal for the SCIV. The oil is about at the top of the full side when at 180f . I might drop some to get down to the lower end of full..

Tyler@MPF 08-20-2009 01:00 PM

Well I got delay, and the trans will be going in within about two hours. Temps should be around 200 though.

Tanc Crusher 08-20-2009 06:23 PM

Are you done with it yet Tyler?

Brian

BLACKDX 08-20-2009 08:10 PM

Tanc Crusher does ur 1/4 mile times work on your DH? Mine is stuck on 21mph:humm: I could never get it updated either. I think its 2.3.0

Tanc Crusher 08-20-2009 09:50 PM

Never really tried mine that way. I could look at it tomorrow. I am running 2.5.9 beta release. Could not goto the full 2.5 release with the lose of Ken Mosher and his team that worked on the DashHawk II.

Brian

sounds like a sweet package

Tanc Crusher 08-21-2009 11:27 PM

Tyler must be having to much fun instead of posting back. I don't much blame him. Seen his setup Wednesday and have to say it looked nice. Can't wait to hear that turbo spool up. Love to be there when getting tuned by Nick.

Brian

Tyler@MPF 08-24-2009 01:10 PM

Well Brian, got the trans installed and I am still doing the relearn, but its starting to get fun.

Tanc Crusher 08-24-2009 04:24 PM

I figured as much. I bet way better once Nick gets done with it.

Brian

Tyler@MPF 08-24-2009 04:37 PM

Thats is for sure. The 1055 runs hotter, so once Nick tunes it will cool the trans temps and egts down, and dip low 12's I hope.

Brian, Ill get it dialed in, then you are welcome to swing by for a ride.:U:

Tanc Crusher 08-24-2009 06:01 PM

You read my mind there Tyler.

Brian

Tyler@MPF 08-25-2009 12:18 PM

Should be DIALED IN in by the weekend.:U:

twin turbos with duel fuelers is only mid 600hp?? nathan wrights (mpi) truck put down 642 with stock cp3, i run the same tuning as well, would think it would be alot better than that??

Dual fuel pumps and twin turbo on a Duramax properly built and tuned will easily push 900hp on fuel only, just like any of the big three's current diesel engines will...stock engine internals might limit that figure to 600hp. 600hp for that setup is definitely a conservative number.

he is also using the stock turbo too, it does limit the full potential of the second turbo that is put on there too, and its probably a stock bottom end like k50 said

im sure that mid 600hp also has very low egts: one being that it more than enough air to support that power, and two the dual fuelers help it maintain its rail pressure to a very high level helping to keep the egts down too.

The link didn't work for me.

Tyler@MPF 01-19-2010 02:54 PM

The truck was tuned with a mild tune. The dual cp3's are only really for looks he is in the process of a new build should be capable of well over 750+.
