Tie Rod Sleeves

If I buy ppe tie rod sleeves with the rest of the front end being stock would it be safe to do 4WD boost launches?

What psi should I launch at when racing?

yes with tie rod sleeves you should be ok doing a boosted launch. i think 5 psi but not real sure on the d-maxes what people are leaving at.

5psi would be pretty low I would think.....

your tie rods will be fine, but your center link, pitman arm, idler arm and outer tie rod ends are next on the problem list.

if your going to go race at the track you would need to lower the front end so keep your cv angles and tie rod angles below parallel with the ground. Anything higher than parallel with a high hp launch will force your front end to raise up and toe in causing a shudder and some tire barking. your tire rods will be fine though, its your centerlink and pitman/idler arm that are being forced to be moved up when they are only designed to move left to right.

For low rpm/boost launch with the front end cranked up it will be ok if you are easy with it, you will have to start low and find out what rpm you can take off of in a 4wd boosted launch.

if my truck at the track i can only stage it at 1900rpms max and feather it off the line, other wise my tires will lose traction or it will start to hop. But i also have 315/70/17's on the truck and tire width has alot to do with the amount of torque being applied on the front end components.

on my buddies truck who i tune he runs stock wheels and tires and his will just spin all four in a straight line with no hop then hook and go.
