2003 LB7 no power after mid throttle

In normal driving it runs great. But from mid throttle to the floor it has no power. As if it is running out of fuel... it revs to 3000 rpms and then doesn't want to shift for several long seconds. (Like 10 or more) sometimes I have to let off the peddle to get it to shift. When you press it to 3/4 or so its like the front end falls and there is no pull anymore. When it shifts and the rpm drops to around 2000 it starts pulling again and then levels out waiting to shift. I have done all the basics, new fuel filter, air filter (even no air filler for test) and just 4 months ago new injectors. Also low pressure out of the filter to the rail was good. Had the computer checked at the local Chevy dealer. No problems found. I just today put a Edge Juice W/ attitude on it. It still runs great from 1/2 throttle down but from 1/2 throttle to floor it misses and has no power and once to reaches 3000 rpm it does not still want to shift.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT!!!! I am to the $800 CP3 injector fuel pump and that is a job to do!!! I think the shifting problem is the related to the no power issue.

Yeah...it sounds like a plugged fuel filter, but if you changed that already I don't know what it would be. You've checked for trouble codes? It still sounds to me like it's plugged up somewhere...

Have you looked at your tranny fluid. I thought the same thing on my truck (running out of fuel) but it turned out to be a burnt clutch pack

edge = problems on LB7's. Just my experience......but sounds like tranny problems to me....

Probably air pipe from filter to turbo collapsing under load .reinforce pipe with plastic drain pipe of a suitable size in the softest bits at each end ,problem solved

Same issue.

Hey man I have the same exact issue with my truck plenty of power half throttle after that no power jumps to 3000 rmp and won't shift till you let off. Let me know if you find a solution. I've been racking my head for months on this problem. New fuel filter tried k&n air and stock no difference. Had a guy look over my truck also mad said all was good.

2003 chevy 2500 duramax bone stock

Chances are your air pipe from filter to turbo is collapsing under acceleration
Find the softest parts of the pipe and insert apiece of drain pipe of a suitable diameter .
May need more than one piece but it should work .let me know

TPS can do all the above also ...

Duramaxx11 05-12-2014 03:43 PM

Just checked the air flow pipes and nothing is collapsing. I am running a wix fuel filter. Filter is brand new don't know if that may be an issue or not.

4x4manonbroke 05-12-2014 11:44 PM

Can you scan to check to make sure the ECM is verifying TPS signal ?

Amalgam21 05-13-2014 02:08 PM

Pipes wont collapse if engine is reved stationary , engine needs to be under load as when accelerating hard up hill onto a highway on ramp . Believe me this is not a wind up it has happened to me on a Vauxhall Frontera and now a Dodge Journey ,for an hours work why not try it just put a short length of drain pipe into the induction pipe at the softest point .

Wow, that irritating.... I hate those mystery repairs...

Burnt/slipping clutches will cause a code and likely put it into limp home mode (P0700 & CEL)- not likely that

TPS errors should cause a code (P2122 to P2140) and probably limp home mode - not likely that

Clogged fuel filter or kinked/collapsed fuel line should set code (P1093 or P0087) and CEL

clogged air filter or supply makes sense on paper but seems unlikely to me. check the filter minder. will be in the red long before the vacuum pressure gets high enough to collapse the intake ducting

try unplugging the MAF sensor and see if it behaves the same
