Will Removing Cat Throw Codes?
I have an '03 LB7 and am looking at systems to remove the converter but have heard that removing the cat converter will cause the engine to throw codes. Any truth in that and how do you overcome?
Thanks, Joe |
Hey Joe, mine is an 07 lbz and I just put a turbo back MBRP on and got an insignificant code. I think its a hit or miss type deal. There are several programmers that will block the EGR code that comes up and you can also use a finger stick to block the code as well. So u have multiple options. Hope that helped ya.

ya it is hit or miss it may thru a CEL it not. mine never did but i did thru codes just never showed on the cluster so it may or it may not. if it does you can get a finger stick and that will take care of it

I think you will have no code on the LB7 for removing the cat. I could be wrong but I was thinking the only LB7 that had a Cat was the California emissions equipped trucks.

I guess it depends, I had an LB7 and it was made without a CC.

No cat on mine, no code. but it came stock with no cat :)
