You're looking at Ford's all-new 6.7L Power Stroke engine (code named Scorpion) that will debut in the 2011 Super Duty, due out in the first quarter of 2010. New engine programs like this don't happen very often, so Ford invited us into its Beech Daly Tech Center in Dearborn, Michigan, to give Diesel Power readers the first look at the next Power Stroke.

another v8 why not put and inline 6 like cummins this is going to be a disaster like the 6.0l and 6.4l

Woody35 09-01-2009 11:19 PM

i hope the tuners will be able to turn off the pilot injection feature. i like the idea of a new 2011 powerstroke diesel pickup sounding like the first powerstroke they came out way back in 94

6.4's are disasters? :humm:

last i heard they make 590 TUNE ONLY

Woody35 09-01-2009 11:23 PM

he must be smoking something

bluecoon32 09-01-2009 11:26 PM

NICE! Do tou know for sure if it will be called the powerstroke still? :U:

dieseldocter16 09-01-2009 11:27 PM

Any truck that you have to pull the cab to work on the motor is a joke in my opinion.
:booo:

Woody35 09-01-2009 11:28 PM

powerstroke is a trademark of ford im pretty sure

dieseldocter16 09-01-2009 11:32 PM

Although it's neat how the exhaust comes out were the intake would normaly be. That means no more up pipes and it should clean things up under the hood.

would be cool if they did indeed allow a person to do that but i doubt for emissions purposes you'll be able to do so, well hopefully Ford gets it right this time, but at the same time they've done nothing in the past to suggest they're going to do things the right way, oh well guess i'll wait and see

ltr450 09-02-2009 08:05 PM

they might make 590 on a chip but how long will they last before they put a rod through the block because the rods look like there out of a gass engine. disaster is right i would take a cummins any day over a powerstroke these things are made out of recycled beer cans.

im sure they do because when im on a sidewalk and a stock duramax rolls up idling i can barely hear it but it said the engineers turned it off to show the magazine how loud the engine would be without it turned on then they turned it back on to show how quiet it was. it sounds like you can turn it off to me but the question is does it affect performance

cumminscontrol 09-02-2009 08:32 PM

ford has had 3 engines includin the new 6.7 in the past 6 years..6.0, 6.4, 6.7 :humm: sumthings wrong with that picture

its called new emmision regs

cumminscontrol 09-03-2009 06:11 AM

yea i know that...but apparently they cant figure it out

K50 09-03-2009 10:59 AM

He does have a point...

Either way, they sure make it sound like a good engine...
Hopefully it is.. It sounds robust and stout...hotrodding a 400hp 750ftlb diesel would be fantastic. I hope they call it a powerstroke and not a scorpion though... And give it a 6spd manual.

cumminscontrol 09-03-2009 06:22 PM

it def needs a 6spd manual..id still be leary tho, wtf am i talkin bout, i bought a 6.7cummins and got rid of my 5.9! lol but it is a cummins..thats the upside

Ford 6.7-liter V-8 Power Stroke Diesel Engine Ratings Leaked (Again) - PickupTrucks.com News

cumminscontrol 09-16-2009 05:33 PM

yep, still gonna be called powerstroke according to that article

cumminspwrram59 09-24-2009 01:34 PM

im pretty sure powerstroke is a ford thing not international international has the maxxforce. ford and international must not be able to keep there people straight because dodge had 1 liter motor for 18 years and just now had to up it for emmissions. as much as i dont like chevy/gm they even got it right with the displacement why in God's name did ford have to make 3 engines in 6 years? :humm:

cumminscontrol 09-26-2009 04:01 PM

u kno them damn engineers are :argh: constantly
