I have a kindof complicated question. I can't afford the whole kit right now but being as how i'm a contractor i have a compressor with me almost everywhere i go. would it be possible to use my compressor (4.5 gallon, 200psi in the tank, can regulate it as needed.) and possibly a quick connect fitting that would be permanently affixed to the supply hose for the horns. so that i could connect my compressor to the horns right in my bed but unhook it and use my compressor as needed. basically what i'm trying to figure out is how much "honk" i could get out of my compressor if i start out with it at full capacity. Thank you in advance.

So are these actual "train horns" and whats there decibel rating?

No they are not real train horns, Not trying to be a jerk here. I collect and restore real train horns. I even have a set of these too, I made a custom 5 chime set up on my truck using that particular horn set and a extra one cut and tuned to a fifth chord. Horn Blasters doesn't make them, a Company named Buell does. However Buell does make real train horns they have for years. HB sells them under their name Shocker. These horns are made as a cost effective version of the other horns they make. I've had them on two of my trucks and they hold up great, never had a problem. And if you do send them back and get it replaced. I put them on my Dodge cause I couldn't fit one of my K5La on it without taking all the bells of and getting custom brackets that a fellow horn collector sells. In no way shape or form am I bashing HB or the horns they sell. I but stuff from them too. Anyway anybody who purchases them will highly enjoy them as I do. Listen to the sound bytes on the Buell site you will see the black horns and then the rail horns. The chords are very the same but in a deep tone. I made mine to rail notes. which are the same chords as the Nathan/Airchime M-5.

Enjoy,

John

to timeless yess you could do that as long as you wired the solenoid valve down the line of the quick connect
