Fuel Tank Sump Question...

Anyone out there running a sump, with a transfer tank plumbed into the main tank...

I have mine set up to gravity feed from the 110 gallon tank to the main tank via a 1/4" fuel line. It stops itself via pressure between the filler neck and the cap...

My concern with a sump is I dont know how much pressure that fuel load puts on the tank, will a sump start to leak over time or will it be ok?

Anyone running this set up or similar?

I like the idea of the sump, but not sure...

I have no clue what diesel is but for H2O its 1psi for every 27 inches of column

Joe,
I have some good literature on race tech and related fuel supply. I will seek for it, if you want.
Is your main concern related to fuel pressure drops? If so, go with the biggest diameter you can find and fit. This keeps fluctuations in pressure to a minimum.

I am only concerned about leaks due to the added pressure on the tank. Most fuel tanks are not under pressure, mine is. If you remove the cap in a few minutes fuel will begin to come out of the cap.

Pretty sure I have decided to go with the pick up tube...
