24v cummins hunts at idel
 
i was wondering if anyone could give me some advise on why my truck will hunt at idle?? it doesnt do it all the time only when she gets warmed up once or twice. but when i run the a/c thats a different story, it does it all the time. any information will be greatly appreciated.:humm: :argh:

Are you talking about it doing a small lope at idle? I've heard of transmission hunting :humm:

Hunting is when the engine is revving up and down slightly trying to find its happy spot, and never does. 2 stroke Detroits are famous for it when cold.

Any codes in your truck? My first thought would be Cam/Crank position sensor if it only happens when hot.

Thanks, I got it fellas. I had a plugged breather on my fuel tank & my TPS switch was bad.
