'97 cummins injector pump
hey some people have told me that increasing my injector pump timing by 17 degrees will help with fuel efficiency and power. is this true and how do i even begin to do this??:humm:

Post this in the 12v Cummins area and you'll probably have more luck.
Also run some searches and you should be able to find some informative threads on this. I dont know if I would go to 17 degrees with stock head bolts, 15.5 to 16 is probably the max until you upgrade head bolts or put in studs, because when you increase timing, cylinder pressure increases. Accoriding to my knowledge 14 is the maximum.. i could be wrong too hey eastern can you explain me more about the 12v Cummins as i lack the knowledge . Pickup trucks

Julin, we typically run either 16* or 18* on 12V's with stock head bolts. Timing choice willl depend on the mods you are wanting to do and how much money you want to spend down the road.
