Could Fuel Prices Be Dropping?

Just was out driving around, and passed a fuel station I passed this morning, and I could have sworn that around 11 AM the price of diesel was $3.59, and passed it bout 30 minutes ago, and the price was at $3.45. Anyone else see prices drop at all today or am I just starting to hallucinate? :c:

bow2no1 12-03-2007 05:13 PM

still 3.63 here

NukleusX 12-03-2007 05:18 PM

Yeah, the station across the street from the one that dropped $.15 today has not changed, though it has been a steady $3.59.... I just find it odd to see $3.45 as last time I filled for that was when I was out yonder driving through Nebraska, havnt seen fuel that low since there...

bow2no1 12-03-2007 05:37 PM

some stations run special certin days of the week.
i know of one not far from me that dropps 10 cents every sunday.

but not on diesel. they said the don't have enough diesel sales to justify a 10 cent drop.

NukleusX 12-03-2007 05:47 PM

thats lame. this station that dropped this afternoon is one of the least expensive stations usually, though i mean now that they are down to $3.45 I wonder if any of the stations will follow suit, too bad there is only 1 station that is right by this one, though we shall see.

oh, and for anyone in my area, the station that is $3.45 is the arco at camino de estrella and the I-5.

Diesel dropped .12 on Thursday to 3.29 I have not noticed since but I can deal with it dropping a little.

well hell, of course I can deal with it dropping more than just a little! lets hope it keeps going down, to say... the high 2's rather than mid 3's!

hntruckman 12-03-2007 08:44 PM

its 3.29 here at walmart with out a gift card 3.21 with one.

Not a chance. Just read a report from Big Oil in Canada that says to expect regular unleaded to average out across the country at $1.50 per LITRE before next summer if Oil stays at $90+ per barrel.

That must translate to somewhere in the $4.10 or so a gallon I'd think.

NukleusX 12-03-2007 11:28 PM

maybe in this case i should go rob a bank tomorrow so i can fill up at the station thats $3.45 lol

i hope your calculations are off. I usually don't look at diesel prices until i am headed to re-fuel but i have noticed the numbers for gas getting lower which is kinda off topic, but there are a lot more gas stations around to catch my eye than diesel pumps. I really wouldn't care about the prices jumping up so much, i'll still pay, but i feel bad for the people who will have to sell a kidney to make 4.10 a gallon. Ill make sure to look around at the diesel pumps and compare prices

cashwheel 12-04-2007 04:46 AM

I have been told after the first of the year we can expect diesel to average $5.00 a gallon nationwide and gas $4.00, I dont know how true that is but if you look at the way its been going up, it seems very possible.

NukleusX 12-04-2007 06:05 PM

eh to counteract these bids of high prices, i saw another 2 stations today lower than their usual prices.... so maybe i just need to keep praying. if fuel jumps to $5 a gallon, im going to be selling body parts left and right, as well as looking to finance me a biodiesel refinery or a veggie oil setup...

Wyatt Earp 12-04-2007 06:48 PM

If it climbs that high I too will be looking to build a BIO system on the property for sure!

CumminsCrazed 12-04-2007 07:16 PM

if it goes up much more im gonna buy a HYBRID!

$3.63 3 weeks ago, $3.59 2 wks ago $3.49 a week ago and today I about had a heart attack sunoco "winterized" diesel for $3.29 a gallon, hopefully it stays low during winter, those $400 fillups suck, not that $350 is any better but it is still $50

RodZZilla 12-05-2007 07:27 AM

Might be about time to start home brew. They opened a large Bio plant in NW IA this week. The local stations sell B5. Found a place in southern MN a few months ago that had a B100 Pump. It wasn't much cheaper than #2. I imagine the oil companies will make sure they keep the costs simular.

NukleusX 12-06-2007 10:19 PM

OK, update on things, fueled at station that has been dropping prices, and I had said it went from $3.59 to $3.45, today when I fueled there, I paid $3.35. If only it could keep dropping, I would be a happy happy man!

Jazz 12-07-2007 06:31 AM

If it hits $3.00 we'll all be happy as hell thinking were really getting a deal.:w2:

2500HeavyDuty 12-07-2007 11:44 AM

I saw 3.17 today!!!! it was a loves truck stop

NukleusX 12-07-2007 05:47 PM

I can only hope prices keep dropping. I have not been by the station I keep mentioning today, im almost thinking an afternoon drive over there to see if the price has stayed the same or changed.

One thing that sucks right around where I am is, even though it is a major trucking route, there are no big truck stops (loves, pilot, T/A) anywhere (and i mean ANYWHERE) very close to me. :( :(

Blue01F250 12-17-2007 12:01 PM

$3.03/Gallon here last night! :) (and that was credit card with my Flying J discount - woulda been less than $3.00 if I had paid cash!)
