If you had to leave it stock....
Out of the big three, who would you buy and why?
My choice would be the duramax. I don't do a lot of off roading or tow a lot of weight. I love the ride the IFS gives you. The duramax has a lot of bloody balls out of the box and the allison has been pretty much dialed in for city and highway driving. LOL, i'd never leave it stock tho. |
cummins 6speed manual. why best combo out there.
|
i'd go duramax, my cummins was wayyy to slow stock for my taste, but the dmax i had stock wasn't too bad! and the ride is so much better than the dodge
|
What is this stock you speak of?:w2:
|
All of my truck & suv have been stock, I like the looks, strong frame of the F O R D. I don't race, tow, or pull.
|
Cummins deffinately, it will last the longest. Inline engines always last longer:tu:
|
Which ever one has a standard tranny.......guess that leaves Dodge for me. :w2:

:humm: It's a sad day when you cant get a manual in a truck, I can't believe Ford would do that, GM dosn't really suprise me. :c:
But if I had to have a brand new truck, and leave it stock, it would either be a GMC Denali with an LML Dmax or a F250 King Ranch with a 6.7 Powerstroke. But it would be REALLY hard not putting at least exhaust on it. aaaand then intake. aaaaand then a hot tune. and the list goes on and on :pca1: |
2011 cummins 6spd....
why you say??? cuz its perty :jump::w2: MMMMMMM SHINY!!!!:tttt: |
I'd have to say a Longhorn Laramie Dodge. Look it up if you don't know what it is. Makes the King Ranch and Denali look like a Benz next to the Longhorn as a Bentley.

Its bout time Dodge got somethin nice to look at! :yeah: Its definantly romps the Denali but I still hold the King Ranch in a special place near my heart........... but the Laramie Longhorn Edition can share with it! :c: |
Yeah I think the Denali is way over rated... The King Ranch is a really nice truck, and I love the King Ranch leather, I just think the stitching and details on the Longhorn are a lot more refined and interesting than the King Ranch's interior. I wish they still made the dual rear captains chairs in the King Ranch though. That was awesome. I think the Longhorn needs a Mega Cab version with dual rear reclining captains chairs, lol, that would be killer.
|
Lol I agree dude. All the stitchings and design really catch the eye. But I just love the color of the leather in the King Ranch. They're both good trucks, but in different ways :c:
|
i to would take the gmc CC long bed.
i hate the chevy front ends. grills are ugly. |

2011 LML Denali, i got wood as soon as i saw it
that long horn edition looks like someone barfed cowboy all over it, and Im no cowboy, i grew up on a farm and theres no way in hell i would get one of those. |
After owning several different diesels (still have 5 currently) with all of them being modified from mild to wild, I have found the perfect stock truck for me. The GMC LML in my sig is the first truck I haven't wanted more power or to rip the exhaust of, and so long as I don't have any problems it will stay 100% stock. I promise.
|
either an 08 6.4 Powerstroke or a 08-11 D-Max...
driven both trucks stock anf both have power. |

Duramax, white, 4 door dually.
|
cummins all the way with manual
|
That longhorn laramie doesn't look all that fancy compared to a king ranch, but for a dodge i guess...:humm: im not a big fan of either though. I'm perfectly fine with the Lariat from Ford, especially if its a black interior.
But if I had to take a stock truck and leave it stock, it would have to be a GMC or Chevy. That way I could sell it to buy a Ford or Dodge to BOMB! :yeah: |
I would get a Dmax Chevy the last one I had was a great truck was never a huge Chrysler fan and well I wont buy another Ford.

You're also from a completely different area of the country, so Im sure there are alot of people around here that would like the Longhorn Laramie or King Ranch that wouldnt where you live. People that are involved in cattle production, and more importantly, people that rodeo, make up a large portion of the population in SE Oklahoma. |
Well, its dang nice for a Dodge, given the history of the interior options. And the color of the King Ranch is just kinda odd. That's just my opinion. I'll admit it if something looks nice, but that doesn't mean I like it.
And around here, if anyone had the money for new trucks, they'd probably all be driving Ram 3500 Mega Cab Longhorn Laramie Cummins turbo diesel trucks. When the mega cab came out they exploded around here. Everyone bought one. Lots of rodeo goers and horse owners here. Here, if you're in the gasser crowd, you like GM, period. If you're in the diesel crowd and actually pull a trailer for any amount of time, you got a Cummins, period. If you're going from gasser to diesel, you have a Duramax. And then you have me, the lone Ford guy. Actually, there's a few of us. :hellox: lol |
For me, if I had to "leave it stock" it'd be either a Cummins with auto, or Duramax. I poke lots of fun at the duramax, but an LBZ w/ Allison is what I'd have if I had the money and was forced to keep stock.

Im actually gonna go out on a limb and say we have about an even number of PowerStrokes and Dmaxs around here. |
