Know why I like these Diesel pickups?
Doesnt matter if its a Powerstroke, Duramax or Cummins... :)
Cruising a 70+ mph highway, while the gassers in their big SUVs always seeming to be in a hurry... (usually) theyre slow down going up hills where we just touch the happy pedal, hear the whistle, and we are the ones passing them on the way up..:choochoo::choochoo: that never gets old!!! haha also where else can you pull up to a truck next to a bunch of semi trucks and not feel intimidated? ...Yeah im 400 hp too, so? :) Id be scared as heck if i was in my old honda! haha ahh good times good times.. :tu: |
I love the fact that my half ton pickup is gettin better mileage than most cars out on the road
|
I like the fact that I can burn almost any kind of fuel I want. I also like blowing past those gassers with little trailers in tow when i'm grossing 20k+

I love everything about diesels. From the power, smell, sound to the COOL factor. :tu:
|
The sound is like no other. Mechanical and visceral, like a buzz saw rending bone. :scare2:
|
Ever since I was a little kid, I have been mesmerized by the sound. You can ask ANY of my family, or ANY of my friends and they will tell you I'm a diesel fanatic. If I'm standing somewhere talking, and I hear a diesel, I will stop mid sentence to turn and make sure that I'm hearing a 7.3 Powerstroke (or a cummins, etc. etc.) and to wave at them to see if they'll romp on it for me :hellox:
Heck I was always smelling diesel exhaust when I was a little kid, they probably thought I was gonna be a druggie when I grew up lol. But it might have actually made me smarter! 4.0 all through elem/JH/high school, graduated Valedictorian, 32 ACT composite, 3.75 all through college.... not to brag :yeah: Now that I'm a little older I love the low end power (hate having to hit 4 grand in my car before I can do anything), fuel mileage, and efficiency. |

The sound is addictive. The only thing that stumps me, but I am getting use to is the lag when I mash it to the floor. I assume that must me computer controlled to keep the trans from grenading. :tu:
|
I love the smell of burnt diesel fuel in the morning. :rocking:

I have been a diesel nut for as long as I can remember. Ask anyone who knows me. My family owns a construction company and I've always been around trucks and heavy equipment.
I love the sound, the different smells, and the power. One of the smells I like is when you just change oil and you can smell the new oil coming out through the breather. One of my favorite sounding diesels is the 3406 Cat. Any of the models. I love the whine that they have and just the overall sound. In my opinion, its the best sounding diesel besides the screamin Detroits. The 3406E seems to have the best whine to it though. |

I love that as soon as you get a diesel you start looking at other vehicles and say oh it's just a gas. diesel makes my world go round.

Love the sound of the turbo spooling as your climbing a 6% grade with the backhoe, paver, and roller on the trailer in tow. :D
