perkins diesel
i just picked up a 26' lobster boat with a 6cyl perkins diesel.
the price was right, so i brought it home. anyone know about perkins? any good/bad?? the turbo seems to be locked up. over all the engine seems to be in good condition. |
Played with a lot of 4 cyl Perkins but never a 6. A six cylinder with a turbo would probably be the same motors used in in the Combines and self propelled balers from yester year. All the Perkins I've messed with were in Massey Fergusson's but I'm pretty sure John Deere used em to.
Not much help but it may give ya some leads. |

I bet you didnt know that CAT diesels used to be CAT Perkins diesel. Just recently CAT purchased the rest of them. Unless its a really old engine, it will be very similar if not the same as a CAT of the same discplacment. This is somthing i have heard and looked up certain engines and sure enough, some of them are the same.
