bht3b questions
ok so im going to attempt my to build my own compound setup here in a few weeks and ive been rounding up parts but i have a couple questions about the oil supply lines
i found an oil supply line for the 3b, but why is there a flange surface on the turbo? is there supposed to be a flange on there and then the supply line put on that? if so, why is the hole in the turbo itself threaded?? and for my second question. is there a difference in feed line placement for the top charger between a second and third gen? any help is GREATLY appreciated as my knowledge of turbos is extremely minimal:s: oh and does anyone know where i can get the oil drain for the 3b?? :c: |
First question;
Almost every turbo, at least everyone I've seen, will have a threaded hole for oil to come into the housing. Then on the other side a flange type surface for oil to exit the housing. Second question; Not 100% sure but the quick search I did online looks like it should be the same. A coworker had a '07 and it used the same filter as my '01. Third question; Is this what you are looking for? It goes into your block in place of a plug. Block Oil Drain Fitting Hope some of that helps. |
Well the reason I ask about the flange is cause both feed and return are threaded and both have flanged surfaces, but everywhere I look the feed line doesn't have the flange and the drain does so I wasn't sure.
I've got the block plug... What I need is the actual drain tube that bolts to the 3b. I found the one for the stocker but I can't seem to find the other one. I was told to look at vulcan for a straight drain but I dint see it there. Thanks for the help |
